Professional Referral Network

At Payson Road we believe that a successful treatment program is the result of the combined efforts of a dedicated team. We encourage all of our members to seek therapy and we are committed to the professionals affiliated with Payson Road.

The Professional Referral Network is new to Payson Road. We are expanding every day and are committed to bringing the best resources to everyone - both eating disorder patients and professionals.

To join the Basic Membership Program in addition to the Basic membership fee, we ask that you* donate 2 hours per month to Payson Road. This could be in the form of event planning or participation, articles for the website, providing information and resources, helping with funding efforts, public relations support, or something you suggest (pending our approval). In return we will list you on our Therapist Referral page which includes your contact information, professional affiliations and degrees and a link to your website (if applicable).

*for Treatment Centers or Groups, volunteer participation can be from an appointed staff member or representative or sponsorship from the Group or Center itself, e.g. involvement or support/referrals for Payson Road events, posting or distributing Payson Road literature at facilities etc.

Silver Level Program, requires a membership fee and 4 hours per month donated time to Payson Road.* This could be in the form of event planning or participation, articles for the website, providing information and resources, helping with funding efforts, public relations support, or something you suggest (pending our approval). For this you will receive a feature spotlight page which includes your bio and information about your practice and/or services, your contact information, professional affiliations and degrees and a link to your website (if applicable). You will also benefit from our monthly newsletter in the spotlight section where we list new referrals.

Gold Level Program, requires a membership fee and 6 hours per month time. This could be in the form of event planning or participation, articles for the website, providing information and resources, helping with funding efforts, public relations support, or something you suggest (pending our approval). You will be in the rotating banner link as the referral of the month on the resources page (every month the listed referral changes so depending on how many Gold level members there are you could be featured as much as every other month but are guaranteed to be featured one month per year.) The banner will be linked to a feature spotlight section that includes your bio, detailed practice and/or services information, your contact information, professional affiliations and degrees and a link to your website (if applicable), featured articles or information about published articles in journals etc. and/or books you've written. We will also feature you in the monthly newsletter for the month that you are referral of the month.

The Platinum Program is a sponsorship program as well as referral. It requires a membership fee and direct involvement with one of Payson Road's programs i.e.. overseeing, co-chairing an event, etc.* The Platinum Program Membership gives you a full page on Payson Road with anything you'd like to promote including but not restricted to; your bio, detailed practice and/or services information, your contact information, professional affiliations and degrees and a link to your website (if applicable), featured articles or information about published articles in journals etc. and/or books you've written. We will also feature you regularly in our monthly newsletter and you will be given the opportunity to start a program on Payson Road and/or use the affiliation in conjunction with workshops or programs of your own (by approval of Payson Road).

Payson Road takes the business of referrals very seriously. We do extensive research on the people who apply to the referral program. We do not list all of the professionals in every area. We are committed to working with professionals who we feel are in sync with Payson Road's philosophies and who are committed to healing. Payson Road is a national organization. We are currently in the process of receiving non-profit corporation status. We are affiliated with several national non-profit organizations including Tipper Gore's National Mental Health Awareness Campaign, nostigma.org. For more information about us. *Groups must have a minimum of one licensed professional or be certified in their area of expertise (if their state does not require them to be a licensed practitioner). Interns with an intern number and supervisor are accepted.

Advocacy

Payson Road takes an active role in advocating eating disorder awareness, treatment and prevention through public events, lobbying activities, alliance and participation with national organizations involved in policy making and action, distributing information to the public, providing resources to parents, educators, state and local governmental representatives, the public and the media. We will not stop till this word has been spread!

Exposure and Referrals

Payson Road is the number one resource online for eating disorders. We receive more hits per day then any other site - over 50,000. This means, more referrals, more potential hits for your site, more exposure for you.

Payson Road is a leader in the eating disorder community. Providing resources and forums for professionals, advocates, and people with eating disorders. We do our homework. We are constantly on the cutting edge of new information and new resources for treatment and prevention. We provide a place that has up to date information and meeting forums to share ideas and network with others. We have a growing number of volunteers who run our networking programs including our monthly chat forums and workshops. We do not take our job lightly! We work hard to keep things moving.

Advertising and Marketing Design Services

We take on the responsibility so you don't have to. Your time is better spent with your patients and/or researching information or writing rather than trying to hustle business.

As a Member of Payson Road's Professional Affiliates, you can take advantage of our Marketing Design services. If you need flyers or o materials to help promote eating disorder awareness or workshops and events (in conjunction with or affiliation with Payson Road), we can help you. Our Marketing Design professionals can do everything from art layout and design to printing materials to writing the content. Production Services

We have a full production studio in our facilities and many of our staff members are trained production specialists and computer digital video specialists. We can write, produce, direct and edit a video, commercial, public service announcement, documentary, just about anything for you. We can produce content on DVD, for streaming web content, digital video, video, film, just about any format. Anything a full production company can do, we can. And we do it better. Links and Affiliations

Payson Road's affiliations become yours. Payson Road is linked to many other Eating Disorder Organizations and we spend considerable time networking to build those links. By being part of the Payson Road team, you are by default linked to many many more websites and organizations which increases your outreach potential.

Payson Road's Programs

Payson Road has several programs for involvement including our workshops and events, our writing columns, poetry wall, arts referral network, Mind and Body healing and much more. You can offer your patients more services by being engaged with Payson Road. We have a growing number of existing programs and we are committed to developing new programs. Public Relations

Payson Road does not just inform the public about eating disorders, we take action. We get your message out - via media, entertainment, networking. Payson Road Founder, Sarah Mason is a successful television writer. Her connections in Hollywood are powerful and put us in a position to reach a wider audience to promote treatment, prevention, and awareness of eating disorders. We are committed to changing the media's portrayal and understanding of eating disorders by our neighborhood "watch-dog" program in which we monitor unhealthy media campaigns and work with others to press for changes in the "images" presented and the cultural pressures placed on young men and women. One of those ways is through our own production. We currently are involved in producing a documentary on eating disorders. And Sarah Mason is currently writing a book about her personal struggle with Bulimia and has written several Screenplays and Television Scripts dealing with the issues of eating disorders.

....to put it bluntly. We are compassionate and understanding of what it means to have an eating disorder which is why so many people have joined our community and keep coming back. The number of hits we receive are not growing this fast for nothing. We've created a virtual online community. This is not a one-stop shopping place. We've been successful because people come back. Payson Road is like a home. We started with nothing, no funding, no professional affiliations. We are still a work in progress - seeking funding. But the site and the organization have achieved tremendous growth in a very short period of time thanks to the commitment, hard work and passion of our team.

We care to understand. We are motivated by a deep sense of responsibility to bringing about large scale attention and change in the way society prevents, treats and views eating disorders. We do not simply offer up statistics and resources. We have an abundance of resources but we have something that nobody else does. We have a creative soul. And we believe in recovery through the creative process. We offer outlets for people to express their creativity. And a place for them to share and seek support and understanding. This is rare. Being part of the Payson Road community is being part of a unique experience. We pride ourselves on doing it with heart.
