Sarah E. Mason Born and raised in suburban Boston, Sarah's love for the creative arts started early. She started dancing ballet at age three. Following her passion for more creative expression she studied jazz, tap and modern which ultimately lead her to a professional career in dance beginning while she was still in high school. After a successful run in the 1985-86 season of Cats on Broadway, a series of injuries interrupted her dance career. Sarah returned to Boston to study Broadcast Journalism at Boston University (BU). Beginning mid-semester at BU, she found herself accidentally enrolled in a film class studying the work of Alfred Hitchcock. Serendipitous as it was, Sarah quickly changed her major to Film and discovered her new love--Screenwriting. She went on to earn a B.S. in Broadcasting and Film and a M.S. in Screenwriting both from BU. Sarah is a successful writer and columnist with numerous credits including the Emmy award-winning a&e television series Biography. She has written numerous screenplays and plays. Her editorial pieces have appeared in several print and online magazines. She is the Editor and contributing writer for Payson Road's online magazines, The Corner and The Voice. She spent several years as a marketing professional in the digital content creation industry catering to the technology side of Hollywood working for such successful companies as DV411 and AJA Video Systems. Her background in event production includes The American Film Institute (AFI) where she was part of their successful Special Events team. Sarah continues to consult and support AFI. Sarah recently founded a new venture, CAKE LIVE, LLC , a global marketing corporation specializing in socially conscious initiatives and strategic partnerships. CAKE LIVE, LLC's four divisions includes CakeLive Events, Virtual CAKE a multimedia company, CAKESHOP merchadising and the C.A.K.E. Sarah's long battle with and eventual recovery from Bulimia Nervosa fuels
her passion for helping others who suffer with eating disorders. Seeking to create an innovative and more progressive
approach to prevention
and awareness of eating disorders, she founded the Payson Road Organization in
June 2000. Payson Road developed into
one of the leading resources for Eating Disorder support and recovery online.
